We went to a Monster Jam that came with tickets to the Supercross. Being there and seeing the Supercross with my own eyes, I thought it was the most amazing thing ever. The smell of two-stroke was in the air – back then it was only two-stroke – and I was hooked. 

I learned how to ride on the trails in North Georgia, eventually branching out to open spaces and tracks, where I started racing. Every weekend was riding on the thousand acres and powerline trails. We’d ride between old warehouses, find ourselves lost, and follow the path of a half-built highway back home. 

The stories go on and on but they always involved me being on two wheels and coming home covered head to toe in mud. I’d clean the bike, fix the bike, and get ready to do it all again the next weekend. 

As I grew up and made my way in life, I found myself in the music industry but always made my way back to my dirt bike. 

551 Cycles is my dream. It represents investing in myself and my family and doing what I love as work. The name 551 has a lot of meanings. 55 was my racing number as a kid. 55:1 is one of my favorite ratios for woods riding. And 551 days is about a year and a half, the age my daughter Irie was when I decided this was the path we needed to be on — to start our own business. 

I believe that trust is earned and I want to earn my community’s business and trust. While you might not know me, you can trust my customers who have left happy, given me good reviews, and come back again and again for maintenance and upgrades, or to learn how to work on their bikes themselves.   

We want to provide you with the tools and mindset to go out there and conquer whatever trail you want! It’s all about having FUN — for as long as you can!!
